The Snug

The Snug is the newest addition to the Village properties, completed in 2024. This charming stone built listed building was originally used to store winter fuel and even housed chickens at one time. It has now been beautifully converted into a stylish two bedroom retreat, all on a single level.

The interior has been thoughtfully designed to accommodate both wheelchair users and able bodied guests. It features a spacious kitchen and dining area along with a fully accessible wet room.

Outside, you will find a private courtyard with a hot tub and a barbecue area. It is perfect for peaceful evenings or social gatherings.

Situated next to the village orchard and animal park, The Snug blends rustic charm with modern comfort, offering first class facilities in a wonderfully unique setting.

The village grounds include a playpark with playhouse, designated BBQ area, a floodlit sports area and an enclosed dog walking area along the banks of the River Amber, where the adjacent sluice gates and weir will be seen that served to provide water power to the neighbouring Cotton Mill circa 1790.

Adjacent the main Farmhouse is a walled Orchard which include geese, ducks, bantams, quail, alpacas, goats, rhea (small ostrich), peacocks, sheep and meerkats which is proving very popular with the younger guests especially helping Farmer Vic including fruit picking when in season and feeding and collecting the eggs from the chickens throughout the year except during the Christmas period.
